About Heavy Meds
We started Heavy Meds because we were tired of two things: the way mental health gets wrapped in soft pastels and gentle language that doesn't speak to us, and the unspoken rule in heavy music that you're supposed to white-knuckle your way through everything alone.
We're two metalheads. One of us takes meds. The other one just gets it. That's the origin story.
The music we love has always been a place to confront darkness head-on. It doesn't flinch, it doesn't sugarcoat, and it doesn't ask you to be okay when you're not. Heavy Meds takes that same energy and points it at the substances that keep a lot of us functional. SSRIs, SNRIs, stimulants, the stuff in your medicine cabinet that you don't talk about at shows but probably should.
We're not therapists. We're not a wellness brand. We make merch for people who manage their mental health and listen to music that scares their parents. If your daily prescription already sounded like a Scandinavian death metal act, we just gave it the logo it deserved.
No shame. No awareness ribbons. No "it gets better" in a cursive font. Just brutal typography on good shirts for people who get it.
